Six native plant communities, that are a part of the prairie mosaic in northeastern Illinois, comprise the 15-acre Dixon prairie at the Chicago Botanic. This presentation, illustrated through pictures of the Dixon prairie, will focus on this grasslands
development plus some of the successes and challenges of creating these plant communities on engineered soils.
